Renovation Realities

We finally moved upstairs yesterday. It has been a crazy, busy weekend. We really feel like we've moved. The above pictures are to give you an idea of what life has been like lately. The first picture is of the paint cans that seem to be following (haunting) me lately because all I do is paint, paint, paint. The second picture is of our closet. We haven't done a closet system in the master yet because we just coughed up about $650 for the kids closets and we're happy to live out of laundry baskets for the time being. The last picture is of our garage which makes me stressed out every time I look at it. Jim is slowly chipping away at it. He's making his workshop in the basement now that we have more room in the house. Maybe we'll be able to park in our garage someday?!?!

Doors, Doors, Doors...

We have a total of 11 doors in the addition and since I'm the painter I paint all of them.

So that's 11 doors x 2 sides = 22 x 3 coats each = 66 times I have to paint a door face = I'm sick of doors!! I guess the bright side is that we bought the pre-primed doors...

Getting Back to Normal...Sort of...

We actually didn't spend the entire weekend doing housework. Our refinance went through so we decided to back off a little and took the kids ice skating. They had a great time and want to go back soon. Nora and Jack did really well. Jack can almost skate on his own after just an hour of skating with the crates. Benny on the other hand would rather sit on the bench...

This is the kids tub. They've already taken a bath in it. It's significantly deeper than our old tub so Jack think he is a dolphin...

Getting There

Here are some pictures of our latest progress...

Jim was able to put in the sinks in the master bath. We actually have running water!!
He even put in our toilet.

This is what I worked on all weekend and all last weekend. This is the kids bath tub. The tile took me forever!

You wouldn't think so but that little inset shelf is what took the most time.

Jim hung this light in the hallway.

He's also making a lot of progress on the stairs. They look really nice.

This is the tile that I put in the entry. It still needs to be grouted. It's black slate.
