Jim framed in the stairs and put in some temporary steps. It's a lot easier to get up than it was with the ladder. Our cat even ventures up. 
A fun little trip to NH to get away from all the goings-on at the house. It was a welcome change from the hammering and the heat here. 
More of the siding is going up and I'm liking it more and more!
Here's a friend of ours helping to put in blow-in insulation on the first floor. We didn't have any insulation in our entire house. Hopefully with the new furnace, new windows, and now insulation our heating bills will go down (or at least stay the same with the added space). 
We got away from the house this weekend by visiting some friends on the Cape. Benny had a great time on the beach and Jack showed off his new swimming skills.
We finally picked a door. We bought a wood slab door and finished it ourselves. It didn't come prehung so Jim had to do it himself (see the action shot below--which Jim made me take). We really like how it turned out. Now we just have to find the right hardware...
I was glad to see the color go up. We had picked it a while ago and I always seem to have my doubts until I actually see it go up (at least I do when I paint a room) but I love the color. We are using cement board siding.
It's kinda hard to see in the picture below but Mike put up all the cornerboards.
