Treated like a King!!

Experimenting with Fabric Baskets

I made this fabric storage basket today with some fabric scraps I had. I like the way it turned out. I need to make it stiffer and I also want to make some bigger ones for storing toys and organizing kids supplies...

Weekend Project

Our long weekend was spent installing this new slider to our deck, well Saturday and Sunday at least. Above is the after image. We left the overhang because that is going to go when we do our addition.

The above pictures are the before images. The window was old and the seals had broken. The window was so cloudy that you could barely see through it. It was time to be replaced. Here we are with the window removed.

This is what it looked like on Saturday afternoon. Needless to say we had a lot of unwelcome visitors (mosquitos) in the house on Saturday evening.
Here's the view from inside the dining area. We thought it would make the room feel smaller but it really didn't, just different.

I can do that!!

I have always seen these cute cotton swim cover-ups in children's boutiques and thought they were so cute but couldn't justify buying them because they're always outrageously expensive. I have always thought that I could make something like it and I did! I actually took a pattern that I found and tweaked it to make this cute cover-up for Nora.

Father Daughter Dance

Not sure this was a good idea...

Jack got this Jeep for his birthday and I think he might need a few lessons...

Super Hero Birthday

Jack turned four on Tuesday and like most boys his age he worships Batman and Spiderman so it was a Super Heroes birthday.

Relocating

We've been busy lately planning our addition. I was told I need to relocate some of my plants if I want them to survive. These are some pictures of my shade gardens that I have to move. I started on one (top picture) but I don't know where to start on the other one. I keep going out with every intention of beginning the task but then I feel overwhelmed and walk away...

Our Little House No More

We are about to embark on the biggest house project to date. We are adding a second story to our house. We have three growing children and we are outgrowing our little house. We are planning on adding a second story which will include four bedrooms and two bathrooms. Hopefully we'll be starting construction within the next few weeks barring any unforeseen setbacks. I'm planning on blogging every step of the way so stay tuned.
